This is a truly very attractive example of a WH cuff-title ( 'Ärmelstreifen') entitled: 'Kreta' that comes in an issued clearly worn and/or most certainly once tunic attached, condition. The cuff-title comes in a minimally, period shortened condition (it measures approximately 40 cms). Both ends show some normal fraying as is more often encountered. The cuff-title just shows some minimal age ie staining caused by moderate wear, there is a stain to the front of the cuff title and am thinking it could be blood staining but cannot be certain (as can be seen on the pictures). It should be stated that these 'Kreta' cuff-titles are not to be regarded as commemorative cuff-titles (such as the 'Afrikakorps' cuff-title) but were regarded as official awards that needed official recognition (and entries in both 'Soldbuch' and 'Wehrpass').
