This is an awarded WW1/WW2 Military Cross gallantry medal case, the case is the standard maroon covered case with the King's crown in gilt at the centre of the lid.
The hinge and opening catch both still work and are not damaged. The inside has the padded and raised recess for the cross and pin, the smooth beige s slightly stained through wear. The lid has padded beige silk and has the impression of the cross to it.
Overall a very nice and not often encountered medal box of a prestigious gallantry award, which is still issued today.
